The New Healthcare Consumer Part II of II

Wayne Glowac

The new healthcare consumer is not only actively seeking out information online, they want to take those findings and make it their own. Customization. Consumers have it now in so many parts of life, why should healthcare be different?

Deloitte found that only 53 percent of consumers prefer traditional approaches, and already half of this group is seeking more information. That means nearly three-fourths of healthcare consumers aren’t satisfied with traditional care. Customization comes in as a way to integrate these needs with more traditional care. If consumers are able to adjust their plan or costs as they like, they are more likely to use the services, even if it is still traditional care.

Seventy-eight percent of consumers have “a preference for customizing their insurance product by selecting the benefits and features they value,” Deloitte reported. And it’s not limited by age group.

The providers that know this are succeeding using customizable health insurance, wellness programs, and more. Are you making your customers happy?
