Per Unit Cost

Dean Halverson

Do you use those little labels at grocery stores, the ones that break down costs and tell you how much you’re actually paying per ounce of a given product?

They’re pretty handy things, really. They let you compare products without doing math problems in your head and help you make more informed consumer decisions.

We think healthcare consumers would love them. We’re not suggesting you ask your docs and nurses to wear labels explaining how much a minute of their time costs, but… you get the point.

As consumers assume more and more of their healthcare costs, they’re going to want to know more and more about what they’re buying and how they’re spending their dollars.

Any information you provide that simplifies decision-making will enhance your relationship with consumers, not to mention those employers still purchasing healthcare for their employees.
